Geneva Bray Woodall Bowen, 86, died Tuesday May 24, 2011 in Franklin. She was a resident of Edinburgh. Geneva was born Sept. 14, 1924 to Elmer and Flora M. (Hyden) Bray in Somerset, Kentucky. She was employed as a nursing assistant for 30 years, working at Welcome Nursing Home and Franklin Indiana Masonic Home, retiring in 1987. Geneva enjoyed reading the bible, crafts, flower arranging, shopping, and gardening. She loved her family and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Survivors include, nine children, Glenda Sanders of Franklin, Bill (Joy) Woodall and Arlen (Brenda) Woodall both of Whiteland, Patricia (Joe) Bechert of Edinburgh, Margaret Paris and David (Pam) Woodall both of North Vernon, Danny Woodall of Brown County, Rebecca (Jim) Black of Columbus and Brenda (Jim) Caldwell of Shelbyville, 27 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, Ivan Woodall and William Bowen, a daughter, Mary Sue Ballenger, a sister, Lois Young, five brothers, Harold, Jackie, Tom, Harlen and Herb Bray, three grandsons and one great-grandson. A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Jessen Funeral Home, Whiteland Chapel, 729 U.S. Hwy 31 North. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.Burial will be at Nineveh Cemetery in Nineveh.
