Boonville—Raymond C. Anken, 96, of Thorton Ave. passed away on January 26, 2011 at Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
He was born in Highmarket, NY on November 6, 1914 a son of Edward and Lena Klossner Anken. He grew up on the family dairy farm in Highmarket and attended the one room school house in Highmarket. Ray married Marguerite Iseneker at St. Joseph's Church in Boonville on November 21, 1940. She died November 4, 2001. He worked for GLF of Boonville, and then Agway until retiring in 1979. He also had a milk route from Highmarket to Boonville. Ray was an avid hunter.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law; five grandchildren; several great grandchildren; two nieces and two nephews. Also surviving is a long-time good friend Joanne Kelpy, Boonville. He is predeceased by two sons David and Edward Anken; three brothers Rudolph; his twin Redmond and Albert Anken; three sisters Rose Arcand; Viola Botts and Louise Humphrey.
A mass of Christian burial will be 10AM Friday at St. Joseph's Church, Boonville with Rev. Sean O'Brien officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in the spring.
