Rev. Stough Will Assist In Funeral Of Brother-In-Law
Services In Greenville Tomorrow For The Late John H. Hodge
Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Osborne funeral home on Penn avenue, Greenville, services will be conducted for John H. Hodge, late brother of Mrs. F. E. Stough of New Castle, Dr. William Earl Davis, of Greenville, will be assisted in the services by Rev. F. E. Stough, pastor of the local St. John's Lutheran church. Interment will be made in Shenango Valley cemetery.
John H. Hodge, son of E.W. and Ann Howell Hodge, was born in Eastington, Gloucestershire, England, May 23, 1964.
He came to Greenville, Pa., with his parents in 1868 where he had resided since.
At the age of 12 years he went to work in the foundry which his father built in 1876. Later he became president of the Hodge Manufacturing Co. The Hodge furnace was his invention.
He was a member of the First Methodist church of Greenville and was an active member of the board of stewarts for 53 years and was a member-emeritus at the time of his death.
Mr. Hodge is survived by one daughter, Martha, wife of Carl Linquist of Oil City, and the following sisters and brothers: Elizabeth Hodge, Greenville, Dr. Emma H. Worrall of Polk, Pa., Thomas S., Garfield A., Charles P. Hodge of Greenville, and Mrs. F. E. Stough of New Castle.
