Garfield Hodge
Garfield Hodge, 90, formerly of 130 1/2 Clinton St., died at 12:20 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7, 1970, at Mercer County Hospital where he had been a patient for two and one half years.
Born Oct. 18, 1880, in Greenville, he was the son of E. W. (Billy) and Angeline Scott Hodge, in 1899, he was married to the former Mabel Crowell who preceded him in death. In 1938 he was married to the former Margaret Infield Red Foot who died in 1956.
Mr. Hodge was a retired master mechanic, having worked for Hodge Foundry, Bessemer and Lake Erie Rail road Co., and Cooper Bessemer Corp.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Greenville, Grove City Lodge 603, Free and Accepted Masons, New Castle Consistory and Zem Zem Shrine, Erie.
Surviving are two sons, Edward (Ted) Hodge of Buffalo, N.Y., H. C. (Hal) Hodge of Beaver Falls; one brother, Charles P. Hodge, Greenville; one sister, Mrs. Fred (Mary) Stough), Zelienople; 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Mrs. Harry (Queen) DeArment, two brothers, Thomas and John Hodge, and two sisters, Dr. Emma Worral and Miss Elizabeth Hodge.
