The Tattnall County native had lived in Glennville most of his life. He was retired from Civil Service at Ft. Stewart, a WWII Navy Veteran, a master wood craftsman and avid gardener. He was a Primitive Baptist Minister serving in many Churches in this area including Pine Grove and Rome Primitive Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by a son James Kevin Kicklighter.
Survivors: wife, Mathadeen Durrence Kicklighter of Glennville; children, Gail Wannette Kicklighter of Glennville, Lolita Kicklighter North of Tucson, AZ and Allen Kicklighter of Glennville; three sisters, Earlene Glisson, Lennie Howard both of Statesboro and Lois Curry of Glennville; two brothers, Franklin Kicklighter of Glennville and Talmadge Kicklighter of Odom; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation: 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 19, 2003 at Carter Funeral Chapel in Glennville.
Funeral Services: 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 20, 2003 at Beards Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery with full Military Honors.
