William E. Bill DeWitt, 92, of Otto, passed away Friday, May 13, 2011.

Born in Savannah, GA, he was the son of the late William Edward DeWitt and Jessie Wallace DeWitt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters. Bill as the owner of Coweeta Creek Campground and was a caregiver, always looking to help others. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Frances N. DeWitt; a daughter, Susan DeWitt of the home; son, Nolan DeWitt and wife, Frances S. of Franklin; a sister, Rosemary Stevens; a sister-in-law, Catherine DeWitt; a grandson, Daniel Dowdy of Franklin and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 18 in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Carl Carpenter and Rev. Steve Reeves will officiate. Burial will be in Rush Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Men from Tessentee Baptist Church will serve as Pallbearers.
