Mrs. Smith, 83 years old, of Lake Park, Fla. died Thursday, March 7, 1996 at Hospice of Palm Beach Co. following an extended illness. Mrs. Smith had been a resident of the Palm Beach area since 1922 coming here from Savannah, Ga. She was the widow of the late Plez C. Smith, who died in 1989, and she was preceded in death by her son, James R. Smith in 1993.
Survivors include a daughter, Pearl S. Oen,
Jupiter, Fla; a sister, Rose Mary Stephens, Tulsa, Okla.; two brothers, LeRoy E. DeWitt, Pooler, Ga., and William E. DeWitt, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Dean Owen, Loxahatchee, Fla. and Deanna Oen, Jupiter, Fla. Additional survivors include six grandchildren.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 11, 1996 at Memory Gardens Memorial Park, Lake Worth, Fla. conducted by the Rev. Thomas Clayton of the First Baptist Church of West Palm Beach.
