1934 Obituary: Millard county, Utah
Mrs Janet Brunson Bishop ages 73 widow of Mahonri M Bishop died at the home of her son Clark H Bishop in Sutherland December 21st from peritonitis following an attack of appendicitis.

She was the daughter of Lewis Brunson and Catherine Carling and was born in Fillmore, Feb 24 1861. She married Mahonri M Bishop in 1882 and was the mother of eight boys and one girl of which the following survive her, J Avery Bishop, Delta; Edwin F Bishop, Sandy; Don T Bishop, Heber G Bishop of Hinckley; Clark H Bishop of Sutherland, Mrs E L [Edward] Silberstein of Los Angeles.

Funeral services were held in Hinckley, Sunday, Dec 23rd the speakers being Pres E L Lyman of Deseret Stake, Wm J We--, Sister Jane Pratt Bishop, Jos M Wright of Hinckley ward and Peter L Brunson of Fillmore. Vocal solos were sung by Ladd Cropper of Hinckley Ward, Moody and George Q Wilchens of Delta. Interment was made in the Hinckley cemetery. The pall bearers were six of her grandsons, namely Max, Gordon, Dean, Darly, Alvin and Frank Bishop.

Mrs Bishop was a devoted church worker serving many years on the burial committee of the Relief Society as she was skilled as a tailor and had made many burial suits during her lifetime.

She was a devoted wife and mother and passed through many trials during her life. At the time of her death, she had thirty-seven grandchildren.
