Delmar Lawrence Spade, 73, of Hancock, Md., died Sunday, January 18, 2009 at the Morgan County War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs.

Born September 4, 1935 in Hancock, he was the son of the late Leslie R. and Beatrice G. Truax Spade.

He attended Hancock area schools.

He had been retired from A. G. Chemical Co., in Downingtown, Pa.

He was a member of Amaranth Church of the Brethren, Warfordsburg, Pa.

He is survived by four sisters, Phyllis Thompson, Hancock; Georgia DeShong and Viola Weigle, both of Hedgesville, W.Va. and Elda Mertz of Martinsburg, W.Va.; three brothers, Bernard L. Spade, Hancock, Arlie G. Spade, Elkton, Md. and Jearld Spade, New Castle, Del.; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Estalene Ritz and Nancy Shives; three brothers, Kenneth R. Spade, Walter R. Spade and James T. Spade.

A service will be held today, Wednesday, January 21, at 10 a.m. at the Grove Funeral Home, Hancock, Pastor Freeman Snair will officiate. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove Christian Cemetery, Warfordsburg, Pa.
