Flossie Ann Abney Peters, age 87, died Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington. She was a native of Rockcastle County, a home maker and a member of the Clear Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Peters was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by: her son, James Edward (Brenda) Peters of Berea; her daughters, Aleen (Lonnie) Land of Richmond, Ruby Jean (Mike) Perkins of Cynthiana, Teresa Ann (Dave) Bailey of Richmond; brothers, Everett Abney of Berea, Cecil Abney of Rockcastle County; sisters, Evelyn Bullins of Berea, Eula Abney of Berea. 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie James Peters; sons, Ronnie and Timothy David Peters; brothers, Eligah, Hobart, Robert and William Abney; sisters, Ella McCracken, Annie McCracken, Myrtle Adams and Thelma Phillips.

Funeral services for Mrs. Peters will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Davis & Powell Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Davis-Witt Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
