Mrs. Ida Abney, 95, of Route 4, Berea, the widow of Morgan Abney, died July 20, 1988 at her residence.
She was born in Rockcastle County Aug. 8, 1892, the daughter of Squire and Nancy Ann Owens Abney.
She was a member of the Clear Creek Baptist Church.
She is survied by five sons, Robert Abney, Elijah Abney and Cecil Abney, all of Route 2, Mt. Vernon,
Everett Abney of Berea and William Abney of Route 4, Berea; five daughters, Ella McCracken and
Evelyn Bullens both of Berea, Myrtle Adams and Eula Abney both of Route 2, Mt Vernon, and Flossie Peters
of Paris. Also surving are 54 grandchildren, 52 great-great grandchildren and 17 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son and two daughters.
Services were sunday at the Wray Funeral Home by Bros. Bill Hamilton and Jack Frost. Burial was in the
Davis- Witt Cemetery. Arragements were by the Wray Funeral Home of Berea.
