w/o Henry D.Young, married Oct. 22, 1923.

Born in the Non area, and was the daughter of Virgil B. Montgomery and Susan Ellen (Barnett) Montgomery. She had five sisters, Pearl, Hazel, Lucille, Jimmie and Truba, and one brother, Raymond. One brother, Bearl, died at age 17.(3 sm siblings died: Houston, age 5; Clifford, less than 2yrs; and Aubrey, infant.
She raised two children, Hurley D. and Hester Lee (Young) Hendrix, and two children died as infants.
She lived in the Non area, where they farmed, and raised a few cows, until she and her husband, Henry, retired, sold their place and moved to Holdenville, the county seat, thirty miles away.
Aunt Lottie was kind and would do anything she could for anyone in need. She worked on the farm, raised a garden and quilted, and raised poultry...had some guineas at one time. She always had beautiful flowers in her garden and around her home, daffodils in the springtime being one favorite.
She enjoyed having company and in the depression years she would host the "ladies auxiliary" from her church so they could do quilting, as fund raisers...she had a larger house for it. She was a faithful church-goer and always welcomed a travelling minister into their home when he needed a place to stay.
She had an exceptional memory of old-time family events, and it was very interesting to hear her relate stories from the past.
