Lucille Montgomery Owens was the daughter of Virgil Berry and Susan Ellen (Barnett) Montgomery, one of 6 girls and one boy. She grew up in the community of Non where she attended schools. She married 1)Clarence Bain and had one child, Lois. She married 2)Newman Owens, and had five children: Travis, Martha Ellen, Donald Lee, Mavyce Leora, and Sharon. She was widowed when her children were all small and she raised them alone. She moved to Coalgate where she worked in cafes. Later, she moved near her children in the Mill Creek area, and worked in Davis. She liked to read, quilt and enjoyed visiting with her family. She loved her family, and they her.
She was very free-hearted (generous) even being a widow, she'd share gifts with her kindred, even it it had to be small gifts, she liked to give. My mom (her sis) had a set of six coffee mugs and holder she'd given her and I retrieved after my mother's demise, and still have them,---especially meaningful because it was from my Aunt Lucille.
