THOMAS HIBBS
Dr. Thomas G. Hibbs, 80, 350 Jennings Street, a Sioux City resident since 1933, died Sunday at a hospital after a long illness.
Dr. Hibbs was born August 18, 1881, at Mitchellville, Ia. He was graduated from the Omaha dental college in 1905 and practiced dentistry at Fonda, Ia., from 1905 to 1921. He practiced in various Iowa cities for the next six years, then moved to Ames in 1927. He practiced in Sioux City until his retirement in 1955. He was a member of Symbol lodge, A.F. & A.M., and the First Presbyterian church, both of Fonda.
Survivors include the widow Emma; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Ward of Louisville, Ky., and Mrs. Dorothea Lowman of Ames; four sons, Phaene and Gerald, both of Chariton, Ia., and James and Herbert of Ames; 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The body was taken to the Heaton-Westcott funeral home.
