SALUDA - Virginia Denman Yarborough, 77, of 1337 McCormick Hwy., died Friday, February 18, 2011, at her residence.

Born in Amarillo, TX, a daughter of the late Oscar and Rhetta Stout Denman, she was the wife of Capers Byrd "Junior" Yarborough Jr. Mrs. Yarborough was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. She was a loving devoted wife, mother and grandmother, known to many as Mama, Mama Ginny and Mammie.

Surviving are her husband of 50 years, Capers Byrd "Junior" Yarborough, Jr. of the home, three sons and daughters in-law, Rick (Susan) Yarborough of Batesburg, Michael (Tina) Yarborough of Gilbert, and Mark (Beth) Yarborough of Greenville, five daughters and two sons-in-law, Vonnie Leaphart of Batesburg, Teresa (Pepper) Griffin of Gilbert, Jenny Lynn Livingston of Columbia, Holly Yarborough of Batesburg, and Linda (Lewis) Broome of Leesville, two brothers, Raymond Denman of Hinesville, GA, and Kenneth Denman of Denmark, SC, a sister, Catherine Cantley of Saluda, 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A special thank you to our caregiver, Mrs. Frankie Easler, for all her love and care given to mama and which she continues to give to daddy.

The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to Lexington Oncology doctors and staff, Lexington Medical Center doctors and staff, and Regency Hospice staff for their care and concern shown to Mrs. Yarborough and her family during this time.

The family received friends from 6 until 8 Saturday evening at Ramey Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life service was held Sunday, February 20, 2011, at the St. Paul United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Robert Cox officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 102 East Butler Ave., Saluda, SC 29138 or to the American Cancer Society , Lung Cancer Research, # 3 Village Square, Greenwood, SC 29648.
