Born in Dalhart, TX, a daughter of the late Oscar H. and Retta Stout Denman, she was the wife of the late John Mitchell Johnson. She was a retired registered nurse and ended her long nursing career as a nurse at Brian Center of Columbia.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Kate J. and Greg Bailey of Lexington, two sons and a daughter-in-law, William and Nancy Johnson of Ballentine, and Tom Johnson of Chapin, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Catherine and John Cantley, and Virginia and C.B. Yarborough, all of Saluda, two brothers and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Sarah Denman of Denmark, and Raymond Denman of Hinesville, GA, a special aunt, Zola Mae Gleaton of Amarillo, TX, and five grandchildren, Mitchell Bailey, Alexandra Johnson, Ellen Johnson, Mark Johnson and Sophie Johnson.
A daughter, Deborah Johnson, a son, Craig Johnson, and a granddaughter, Claire Bailey, preceded Mrs. Johnson in death.
Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010, in the Ramey Funeral Home chapel. Entombment will follow in Travis Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service at Ramey Funeral Home.
