ROGERSVILLE-Horace Bloomer, age 90, Rogersville died Friday, May 21, 2004 at his residence following an extended illness.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, Rogersville. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He retired from International Playing Card and Label Company.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Elizabeth Wolfe Bloomer; sisters, Elsie Spradlin, Nola Stapleton and Allie Helton and brothers, Sam, Gene and Clarence Bloomer, Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Flogene Sensabaugh Bloomer of the home; daughter Patsy Miner and husband, Phillip, Rogersville; grandson, Michael Miner and wife, Stacy, Rogersville; great-granddaughter, Hayleigh Miner; step-great grandchild, Jordan Lawson, both of Rogersville; sisters, Eula Bloomer, Gladys Spivey and Louise Williams, all of Kingsport and Joyce Fain, Rogersville and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was Sunday, May 23, 2004 in the Broome Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Riley officiating. Burial followed at Hawkins County Memorial Gardens.
