Gladys S. Spivey, age 88, entered into rest October 31, 2011. She was a longtime resident of Kingsport, and was retired after 40 years of service with J. P. Stevens. In additions to parents, Clarence and Elizabeth Bloomer, Gladys was preceded in death by her four brothers, Clarence Jr., Sam, Gene, Horace, four sisters, Elsie, Eula, Alice, and Nola. Survivors include one daughter Lynn James of Kingsport, two sisters, Louise Williams of Kingsport, Joyce Fain of Rogersville, and numerous nieces and nephews. A special thank you to her caregivers, Sandy, Suzy, Lori, and Shelia. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at East Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assoc. 207 N. Boone Street, Ste. 1500, Johnson City, Tn. 37604.
