Mrs. Collins had been a citizen of Lafayette County since childhood, and belonged to one of the oldest and most honored families that ever lived in the county.
She was the 5th child of a family of 15 children, 13 of whom lived to be grown. Four sisters survive her, namely; Mrs. Salina Moore, of Oxford, Mrs. Allie Collins, Mrs. Lou Hall and Mrs. Henry Bunch, of Tex.
Mrs. Collins was the mother of 6 children, 5 of whom lived to be grown. Three are now living, namely Dr. Geo Collins, Mrs. Chas. Cambell, both of Oklahoma, and Mrs. Joe Anderson, of Abbeville, where she spent her last years and where she died. She leaves a large number of grand children.
Her conversion took place during her early womanhood. Since that time she had been a consistent member of the Baptist church. She lived a beautiful christian life, a modest, humble, quiet life. She leaves behind her the aroma of a well-spent life and "her children rise up and call her blessed.'
Funeral services were conducted in the home by the writer, and at 3 o'clock p.m. She was layed to rest in the Abbeville cemetery, to await the blessed resurrection of the just.
