Lucinda, was born as Lucinda Breazeale in South Carolina in 1807. In 1822 she married Allen "Humphreis" as transcribed on her tombstone. The family name was spelled with many variations. Her husband Allen's tombstone reflects the spelling Humphries.

More can be learned about Lucinda through the obituary of her husband, Allen Humphries. The following was provided by descendant Terri Stern:

Allen's obituary, reprinted in the 27 Mar 1969 Centennial Edition Reprint in the The Oxford Eagle. In the obituary it says they married in Alabama. Here is the text of that which I transcribed from the University of Mississippi Library microfilm of Oxford newspapers:

The Oxford Eagle -- Thursday, March 27, 1969
Centennial Edition
Aug 31, 1893: The EAGLE is sorry to learn that Mr. Allen Humphries is quite ill at his home four miles north of town. Mr Humphries is perhaps the oldest citizen in the county--94 next October--and has been for all his life an exemplary man and kind neighbor.
OBITUARIES
ALLEN HUMPHREYS--Was born in Jackson county, Georgia, Oct. 30, 1800. His ancestors were a mixed blood of English, Welsh and Scotch. Early in life, with his parents he removed from Georgia to Alabama, in which state at the age of twenty-two years he was married to Lucinda Brazeale. This union was blessed with fifteen children, six boys and nine girls, thirteen of whom lived to be grown. Eight are alive at this writing; namely, Louisa, now seventy years old, George Posey, age sixty eight years; Ruth Caroline, age sixty-six years; Salina Jane, age sixty-one years; Leah Almarine, age fifty-seven years; Lucinda, age fifty-two years; James Polk, age forty-seven; Avarilla Joan, age forty-four years. At the time of Bro. Humphrey's death, he had forty-seven living grandchildren, fifty-nine great grand children, and two great great grand children, making a living posterity of 116. Bro. H. came to La Fayette county, Mississippi in the year 1837, where he remained until his death which occurred January 7, 1895. He had reached the ripe age of ninety-four years. He had been married three times. All of his wives preceded him to the spirit world. There was no issue from the last two marriages. Bro. H. had been a Christian and member of a Baptist church since he was twenty-seven years old. Bro. H. served for a time in the Seminole war of 1835, and for which service he received the last two years of his life a pension. He was all that goes to make up a true man. Not educated in the schools, but being endowed with a naturally fine mind, and having a bondness [sic] for reading, had informed himself upon religious subjects, especially, and being a reader of papers was well up on the news of the day. He had well-defined ideas concerning social, religious and national questions. Being strictly honest and conscientious in all his business transactions, he commanded the confidence of the businessmen of his community. He lived a quiet, retired life on the farm, always enjoying a competency, but never rich. He was kind to the poor, and ever ready to help the needy. Bro. H. leaves a rich heritage in a good name and honorable posterity.
