Death of Dr. Collins.

After a lingering illness Dr. G. H. Collins, a pioneer citizen of Davis but who has lived in Oklahoma City for several years until recently, died in this city last evening about 8:30 o'clock. He has been in failing health for some time, having contracted tuberculosis, which claimed his life. Several months ago he went to Southern Texas in the hope of benefiting his health but as no improvement was made, he and Mrs. Collins moved back to Davis, their old home and the home of their daughter, Mrs. W. N. Lewis. Here the patient lingered until, weakened by his months of illness, he passed into a peaceful sleep forever.

Funeral services were held at the graveside in Green Hill cemetery at 2 p.m. today, the religious services being conducted by Rev. R. A. Crosby, pastor of Methodist church. Fraternal services were held by Cedar Camp No. 42, Woodmen of the World, of which camp the deceased was a charter member.

Dr. Collins was about 60 years old. He came to Davis some 15 or 20 years ago from Mississippi, his native state, and was formerly in the drug business here, also practiced medicine. He was a highly respected citizen and had the friendship and good will of all. He was a well educated man, and raised a large family and gave them the benefits of good educations. His children are all grown now and doing well.

Our deepest sympathies are extended the relatives who are steeped in sorrow over the death of their loved one.
