Daniel E. Adams, aged 76 and a life-long resident of Waseca county, died at 1:30 p. m. Tuesday at Memorial hospital in Waseca, after a week's illness. Death was due to pneumonia. Deceased was a son of the late Joseph and Margaret Adams and was born in Freedom township on Oct. 25, 1868. He grew to manhood on the home farm and was married on April 25, 1899, to Miss Margaret Rose Haas, the ceremony taking place in St. Mary's church with Rev. P. McCabe officiating. He was engaged in farming throughout his life except for 12 or 13 years, when he served as a rural mail carrier. He took an active interest in public affairs and was highly esteemed by all who knew him. He retired from active work a year ago and had since lived in this village. Mrs. Adams preceded her husband in death on Nov. 24 last and one son, Sgt. Joseph F. Adams, met death in action in France on Nov. 16. Mr. Adams is survived by two sons and seven daughters. They are John Adams in the U. S. Army, Edward, Miss Rose Adams and Mrs. C. C. Donovan of Minneapolis; Mrs. Jerome Byrne of Waseca; Mrs. John Warden, Mrs. Ray Sullivan, Mrs. Lawrence Kircher and Mrs. John McCartney of Mil¬waukee. He also leaves 23 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Two sisters, Mrs. Patrick Hawkins of Waldorf and Mrs. John Munsch of New Richland, and two brothers, Timothy Adams of Waldorf and Matt. Adams of Valleytown, Mont., also survive. Funeral services will be held at All Saints church at 10 a. m. Friday with Rev. William Collins officiating and burial will be in the Catholic cemetery.
