Newport News - Anna Becker Roundy, 81, a native of Red Star, W. Va.
and a Peninsula resident for 75 years, died Sunday April 14, 1996.
Mrs. Roundy was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church and a
former member of Temple Baptist Church. She was also a member
of Women's Auxiliary of VFW Post 176, member of AARP, a former
4 H Leader for Warwick County, and a former member of Ladies"
Auxiliary of Old Dominion Dragoons.

She retired from the city of Newport News as a school bus driver
after 10 years of service and was a former employee of Orcutt
Baptist Church, housekeeping department.

She is survived by three sons, George E. Roundy and Robert E.
Roundy, both of Newport News, and Frank E. Roundy of Hampton,
one daughter, Mary Lou Guzik of Newport News, one sister, Julia
C. Karnes, Newport News, 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Paul E. Roundy.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Chapel
of J.W. Smith and Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Thurman Hayes,
officiating. Burial will be in Peninsula Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the
W.J. Smith and Son Funeral Home.
