Ardmore — Funeral services for Mrs. Maxine Louise (Sirmon) Austin, 78, of Wilson are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2011, at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson with Dr. Walt Spradling officiating. Interment will follow at Bomar Point Cemetery in Wilson. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.

Maxine was born July 7, 1932, at Wilson to the late Mr. James "Jim" W. Sirmon and Mrs. Ella Ora (Pool) Sirmon. She departed this life Sunday, April 3, 2011, at her home in Wilson.

Maxine was raised in Wilson graduating from Wilson High School. She initially worked as a switchboard operator and later in life was a tax preparer for H&R Block. She and Mr. Hurshel Lee Austin were united in marriage March 4, 1977, at Gainesville, Texas. They made their home in Wilson, the community they always have loved. Maxine was a devout homemaker, always caring for husband and family. She loved doing crosswords puzzles and enjoyed sewing and baking.

Maxine will be missed by her loving family, many friends, and the wonderful workers from Cross Timbers Hospice who so lovingly took care of her. She attended the Cornish Primitive Baptist Church of Wilson.

Preceding her death are her parents; and brother, James Newman Sirmon.

Survivors include her husband, Hurshel of the home; children, Doug White and wife, Lynne of Ringling, Vicki (White) Cox and husband, Terry of Ardmore, Kirk White of Wilson, Deborah (Austin) White and husband, Jimmy of Euless, Texas, Roaxann (Austin) Heath and husband, Bob of Bedford, Texas, Hurshel Austin, Jr. of Fort Worth, Texas, and Paul Austin and wife, Jennifer of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren, Michael Coe, Dava Coe, Amanda (Cox) Miller, Candice (Cox) Ryan, Kristin (White) Paul, Alan White, Josh White, Tonya (Nu~nez) Surbaugh, Mark Nu~nez, April (Nu~nez) Vo, Brandy White, Lance Hutson, Tannah Austin, Amy Hodges, Kelly Burgen, Angelea Bell and Brittany Heath; 25 great-grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends.

Pallbearers Bob Heath, Jimmy White, Terry Cox, Larry Hutson, Lance Hutson, and Paul Ryan.
Family visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home in Wilson.
