Roy Stegner was the son of Joseph & Permelia (Sherwood) Stegner.

On December 25, 1904, he married Zora Haman, daughter of Christopher & Melissa (Brook) Hamann in Metamora.

They had the following children: son, Harold E. Stegner; son, Francis W. Stegner (died as infant); daughter, Mabel Stegner Fletcher; son, Hubert R. Stegner (died as small child); daughter, Edith V. Stegner Gilligan; and daughter, Mary Lucille Stegner Senefeld.

They moved to her parents farm in Blooming Grove where Roy farmed & raised livestock. He was known as "King of Popcorn" because he raised & sold over six tons of popcorn a year. He and Zora were both very active in the community there.

Roy died in December of 1965 at the age of 83 and he and Zora are both buried in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville, Indiana.
