Ola Mae grew up and attended school in Waco until becoming a military wife living in Europe and various military bases in the United States.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Winnie DeHart Smith; husband, Joseph Eugene LaRue Sr.; sons, Charles and Jon Robert; daughter, Jean Marie; sister, Alma "Boots" Flemmons; and brothers, Charles and George Smith.
She is survived by sons, Harvey Bradley and wife, Lisa, of Dallas, Joseph Eugene LaRue Jr. and wife, Jan, of Pleasanton, and George Albert LaRue, of San Antonio; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Florene Roberts and Frances White, both of Waco, Mamie Leftwich, of Hewitt, Barbara Ingram, of Robinson, and Tran Malone, of McCalla, Ala.; and many other family members and friends.
