LEROY "LEE" HOWARD HITCHCOCK

ERA — Funeral services for Leroy "Lee" Howard Hitchcock, 74, of Era are set for 10 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2011 at the Clement-Keel Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Burnett, Pastor of Era Baptist Church officiating.

Interment will follow in Valley View Cemetery under the direction of Clement-Keel Funeral Home.

Leroy "Lee" Howard Hitchcock, born Jan. 24, 1937 in Paint Rock died March 26, 2011 at his residence in Era. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Florence Lavern Hitchcock of Era; three children and their spouses, Debbie Carter of Benton, La., Beth and Mark Miller of Era and Bobby and Glenda Hitchcock of Waco; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Doris Mitchell of Woodson, Ada Smith of Woodson and Martha Henry of Coahoma and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Howard Hitchcock and Verdie Powell; brothers, Clinton Scott "Scotty" Hitchcock and William Eugene "Billy" Hitchcock; and a sister, Wilma Ruth "Ruthie" Tucker.

Lee Hitchcock lived in West Texas most of his life. He moved to Louisiana five years ago and moved to Era in 2010. He served in the U.S. Marines and received a medical discharge. He was a farmer, brick layer, truck driver and worked in the oil fields.

Alan Light, Michael Light, James Davison, Nick Chesser Chris Miller and Zack Miller will serve as pallbearers. Justin Kenmuir will be an honorary bearer.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday evening, March 30, 2011 at Clement Keel Funeral Home.

Leroy "Lee" Howard Hitchcock, born January 24, 1937 in Paint Rock, Texas died March 26, 2011 at his residence in Era, Texas. He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Florence Lavern Hitchcock of Era Texas; three children and their spouses, Debbie Carter of Benton, LA, Beth and Mark Miller of Era and Bobby and Glenda Hitchcock of Waco; eleven grandkids; five great-grandkids; sisters, Doris Mitchell of Woodson, Ada Smith of Woodson and Martha Henry of Coahoma and numerous nieces and nephews.
