Martha Hitchcock Henry, 88, died Saturday, November 4, 2023.

Visitation will be 9 AM until 9 PM Friday with family receiving friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Saturday at Myers & Smith Chapel with burial Trinity Memorial Park.

Martha was born on February 11, 1935 to Verdie & Jack Howard Hitchcock in Lowake, TX.

She married Gene Henry on August 2, 1952 in Big Spring. He preceded her in death on July 26, 2005.

She spent most of her life in Howard County and was a Baptist.

Martha was homemaker, but had also worked at Newsom's, Coahoma Dairy Queen, Solitaire Homes, and in later years in home health.

She loved playing softball, raising show rabbits, and listening to country western music & dancing.

Martha is survived 1 son: Jackie Henry (Annette); 1 brother-in-law: Eljory Smith; 5 grandchildren: Jason Henry (Brashara), Desirae DeYoung (Jeremy), Eric Henry (Erin), Christopher Henry (Meranda), & Kimberly Saucedo (Brett); 15 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren.

Martha was preceded in death by her mother: Verdie Powell; father: Jack Howard Hitchcock; 1 son: Wayne Everett Henry; 3 brothers: Scott Hitchcock, Leroy Hitchcock, & Billy Hitchcock; and 3 sisters: Ada Hitchcock Smith, Doris Hitchcock Mitchell, & Ruthie Hitchcock Tucker.
