Winifred (Win) Cook left her earthly life at the age of ninety-one on Thursday, March 24, 2011.

She was born in Cannonville, Utah on February 19, 1920, the oldest child of Parley Pratt Johnson and Jennie Wickman. She grew up in Price and graduated from Carbon High School.

She married our dad, George Alexander (Pete) Cook, on August 19, 1944 in Long Beach, California. They were sealed in the Los Angeles Temple on January 24, 1968. Dad built their home in Santa Monica, California and they lived there for forty-one years. She was a wonderful mother and example to her two children, Cathy and Carl.

She sang for many years with the Singing Mothers of Southern California. She was either the choir director or chorister in every ward she lived in. Later in her life she worked for Drs. Vock, Seizer, and Thee. She and dad served a Building Assignment for the LDS Church in England from 1973 to 1975.

She left her beloved Santa Monica in 1990 and built a home in American Fork. She served as a Church Service Missionary at the Conference Center from 2000 to 2005. She was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 2003 and moved in with Cathy and her family in Highland.

She is survived by daughter Cathy Jolley (Doug) of Highland; grandchildren Natalie Jorgensen, Meredith Bryant, and Tyler Johnston of Queen, Arizona; Todd Johnston of Sandy; and Cole Jolley of Highland; son Carl Cook of Santa Barbara; grandsons Colin and Spencer of Santa Barbara; and eleven great-grand-children; two brothers, Merlin Johnson (Bonnir) of Price; and Lavell K. Johnson (Darleen) of Garden Grove, California. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and four brothers.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Canterbury Chapel, 10417 North 6750 West, Highland, UT. Friends may call on Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork, and Thursday from 8:45-9:45 at the Church prior to the services.
Burial will be in the Price City Cemetery.
