JUDSON BASS, 95, DIES AT RED OAK
Servcies were this afternoon at the Perryman Chapel for Judson A. Bass, 95, Red Oak resident for over 50 years, who died of complications Saturday, December 9 in Murphy Memorial Hospital.
Rev. Asa Bopp officiated. Music was by Mrs. Fred Shields, vocalist, and Miss Mabelle Reimers, organist.
Serving on the floral committee wee Mrs. Matilda Buehler, Mrs. Dale Petty, Mrs. Ralph J. Stebbins, and Mrs Arthur Youngberg.
Bearers were Dale H, Petty, Luther Peters, Harold Aiken, Arthur Youngberg, Frank A. Burdick, Harry D. Johnson, Walter Jones, and Tom Moates. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.
The son of George and Mary Bass, Mr.. Bass was born in Maiden, Illinois, July 7 1855. He attended Princeton Schools and later taught school during the winter months and farmed in the summer.
His first marriage was to Pauline S. Waterhouse on December 26, 1878. She died in Red Oak in 1920. Mr. Bass lived in Pottawattamie county for many years and moved to Red Oak in 1896.
His second marriage was in 1921 to Lillie C. Miller Hatfield in Red Oak. She died in 1943.
A member of the First Baptist Church here, Mr. Bass is survived by three sons, George J. and Howard L., both of Red Oak and Paul J. of Denver; two daughters, Mrs. Lula Sedam of Burley, Idaho and Mrs. Vera Shields of Red Oak. There are 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

RED OAK Judson A. Bass, 95, retired Red Oak farmer and civic leader, died Saturday at the Red Oak Hospital after a 10 day illness. Funeral services will be held Monday at the Perryman Chapel. The Rev. Asa Pope will conduct rites with burial n Evergreen Cemetery.
Born July 7, 1855 at Malden, Illinois, the son of George and Mary Bass, he taught school prior to his marriage in 1878 to Pauline S. Waterhouse. They moved to Pottawattamie County in 1878 and to Red Oak in 1896. Mrs. Bass died in 1920 ad he married Lillie G. Lichfield in 1921. She died in 1943.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Vera Shields of Red Oak and Mrs. Lulu Sedom of Burley, Idaho; and two sons, George J. and Howard L. Bass, both of Red Oak.
