Commonwealth Reporter, Mon. Oct 19, 1959, p. 18:1. Area Garage Owner Years Expires At 72. Peter Abhold Dies After 3 Years of Illness; Rites At Mt. Calvary. Peter J. Abhold, 72, a retired Mt. Calvary garage operator, died at 12:10 a.m. today at Rolling Meadows. He was ill three years. He was in the garage business 32 years before retiring in 1953. Mr. Abhold was born at Medford Jan. 20, 1887. His parents were Joseph and Mary Kramer Abhold. He was married Nov. 9, 1909, to Ottilia Steffes, Mt. Calvary, who died May 21, 1924. On July 26, 1927, he was married to Martha Fritz, Mt. Calvary. Surviving are the widow; four sons, Albert Abhold, Green Bay, and Norbert Abhold, of Campbellsport, R. 1, born to him and his first wife, and Wilfred P. Abhold, Mt. Calvary and Franklin Abhold, city, born of the second marriage; 12 grandchildren; and seven brothers and sisters, Joe, Fremont, Hubert and Henry, city, Louis, Yakima, Wash., Mrs. Theresa Kassick, Minneapolis, Mrs. Catherine Thuermer, Mt. Calvary, and Mrs. Elizabeth Felchin, Van Dyne. A son, a daughter, and two brothers preceded him in death. Mr. Abhold was a member of Holy Name society and the Knights of Columbus. Friends may call at the Lisowe Funeral home, St. Cloud, after 2 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be there Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. and at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross church, Mt. Calvary. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
