Beloved son of Charles William Somes and Luella Clegg Jackson. Husband of Dorothy Pickering Evans and Father of Dorothy Jeanne Jackson.
Myrthan was an accomplished surgeon who was very dedicated to his patients. He was the head of surgery for a time at LDS Hospital and spent his spare time in his workshop at home where he designed instruments that were not only used in surgery at that time, but are still in use and bare his name. Like all the other Jackson boys, he was a gentle soul who greatly loved his family and he was loved in return. We miss you and love you always and forever.

Dr. Henry Myrthan Jackson, M.D., age 88, died October 1, 1996 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He was Born May 11, 1908 in Parker, Idaho to Charles William and Luella Lodema Clegg Jackson. Married Dorothy Pickering Evans on July 2, 1934, Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died March 27, 1992.

Dr. Jackson received his bachelor"s degree from the University of Utah and his MD degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago, Illinois. His internship and residency were at LDS Hospital with an additional year of residency in cancer at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York. Physician and surgeon with Intermountain Clinic for 46 years. He was president of the Salt Lake Surgical Society, and president of Utah Chapter of American College of Surgeons. Chief of surgery of LDS Hospital. Member of Salt Lake County Medical Society, Utah State Medical Society, and the American College of Surgeons. Served in the US Army during World War ll.

Survived by a daughter, Dorothy Jeanne Jackson, sister-in-law, Norma (Floyd) Jackson; two nieces Marylyn (Ted) Midgley, and Karen (Fred) Beck.

Funeral services on Saturday Oct. 5th, at 12 Noon, Larkin Mortuary Chapel, 260 East So. Temple, where friends may call Saturday morning 10:30-11:45 a.m. Burial, Salt lake City Cemetery.
