You were truly the meaning of the word gentleman as you were a gentle man. Floyd was a Banker and Vice President of the 8th South Branch of First Security Bank. He was a hard worker who loved to spend time with his family and friends. As a loving and caring father and grandfather he was always so happy when they was visited by his daughters and their families, and took an interest in their lives and in being part of it. He was a great artist who painted many beautiful paintings and drawings. He love archery as well and even made some of his own bows and arrows. A Faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he held many positions in the church. He devoted his life to his family and his church. He gave us many cherished memories of him that will live on for years to come. He is truly loved and missed always and forever!

F.C. Jackson, Banker, Dies

Floyd Clegg Jackson, 67, 2796 Alden St. (1340 East), retired vice president of First Security Bank, died May 3, 1972 in a local hospital of a heart ailment.

In 1964, Mr Jackson was appointed vice president of the First Security Bank office at 36 E. 8th South, after serving as assistant vice president and manager for nine years.

In 1945, Mr. Jackson was named assistant manager Of First Security's Timeway Installment Credit department at the 1st South branch office. He began his banking career as a messenger with Deseret National, and retired in 1970 after serving for 45 years.

He was active in several civic affairs, was a member of Salt Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and was a volunteer for Red Cross and United Fund drives.

Mr. Jackson was a director of the Utah State Archery Associate and a member of the Bank Officers Association. He also was affiliated with Robert Morris Associates.

Mr. Jackson was a member of The Church of Jesus Church of Latter-day Saints, serving as ward welfare clerk to the Imperial 2nd Ward. He also served a stake mission, and was a counselor in the YMMIA. He was also president of his Seventy's quorum and a high priest group leader.

He was born July 17, 1904, in Rexburg, Idaho to Charles William and Luella Clegg Jackson. He was a resident of Parker, Idaho until 1923, when he moved to Salt Lake City.

He married Norma Sessions, Aug. 15, 1930, in the Salt Lake Temple.

Survivors include his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Eugene L. "Ted" (Marylyn) Midgley, and Mrs. Fred (Karen) Beck, both Salt Lake City; 11 grandchildren; two brothers, C. Vernon, Dr. H. Myrthan, both Salt Lake City.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Imperial Second Ward chapel, 1560 Atkin Ave. Friends may call at 5850 - 9th East on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m., and at the chapel on Saturday one hour before the services. Burial will be in the Memorial Gardens of the Valley.
