GILES J.HALL DEAD

Giles J. Hall, one of the oldest residents of Norwood died suddenly Saturday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock. He had walked home from down town and sat down in a chair to rest when he suddenly sank back dead. Mr. Hall was 93 years old the 7th day of last March.
He was born in the town of Norfolk and was the son of Erastus Hall, one of the first settlers of the town of Norfolk, when that territory was included in the bounds of Louisville. He was educated in the common schools and St. Lawrence acadmy at Potsdam. In 1829 he came to Massena, where for four years he worked in the stores of Benj. Phillips and Phillips & Andrews. Then he went to Raymondville and engaged in the lumber business and conducted a general store until 1872, when he moved to Norwood, where he has since resided. He leaves one son, Charles, of Norwood.
