Leroy was born February 4, 1921 in Oktaha, OK, the son of Fannie and Roy Phillips and died Friday, March 18, 2011. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Liberty Baptist Temple, 821 Gibson, Muskogee, OK. Arrangements are under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Service.

Leroy served his country in the U. S. Army from 1942 to 1943 and the Army Air Corps from 1943 to 1946 with the 548th Night Fighter Squadron. He was a faithful member of Temple Baptist Church for 55 years where he served as Treasurer for 40 years. Currently he was a member of Liberty Baptist Temple. Prior to retirement in 1983, he worked at Brockway Glass Company for 32 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Dorothy May; brothers, Sam and Elmer "Buddy"; and his sisters, Margaret and Beulah.

Survivors include his two daughters, Susann Vanzant and husband, Floyd, of Vian, OK, and Patricia Hollis of Muskogee; four grandchildren, Tammy Hellinghausen of Wagoner, OK, Robert Vanzant of Sutton, Massachusetts, Jennifer Morris of Muskogee, Randy Hollis of Muskogee; seven great-grandchildren, Justin and Megan Clifton, Logan, Lauren, and Nicholas Morris, Kyle and Michael Hollis; one sister, Dorothy Rhodes; two brothers, Elbert and Ray; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
