Lucille R. Niccum, 83, of Lafayette died at 5:20 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009 at her residence.
She was born Feb 4, 1926 in Green Hill to the late Elbert and Ada Atwell Lake.
On Jan. 24, 1948 she married Ernest Niccum in Lafayette, and he preceded her in death on May 5, 1984.
Mrs. Niccum retired in 1988 from Purdue University as a custodian after 13 years. She enjoyed bingo and sewing.
Surviving are her children, David R. Niccum (wife, Helen) of Grawn, MI, Terry A Niccum (wife Tina and Mary Flynn both of Lafayette, Jerry M. Niccum (wife, Geneva) of Fowler, and Cindy Shoffner (husband, Richard) of Farimouunt; and four sisters, Lou Stine (husband, Bill)of Monticello, Helen Brummett of Lafayette; Lena Gillenbeck (husband, Bill) of Odell and Isabelle Simmons (husband, Jim of Georgia.
Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Se was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 1 sister.
Visitation 4-8 p.m. Monday with service 1 p.m. Tuesday at Soller-Bker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. John Bower officiating. Interment at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
