ELMER BRYANT KILLED WED. NEAR WATSON
Elmer Bryant, farmer in the Watson area, was fatally injured in a car-truck collision at the Watson corner on Hwy 275 late Wednesday morning. Four of Bryant's eight children were in the car at the time, but escaped with minor injuries.
The accident occurred when Bryant attempted to execute a "U" turn on the highway to let two of the children out at Lone Cedar school. Bryant's car was struck broadside by a car transport loaded with new cars. The door on the driver's side was pushed halfway through the car, but neither vehicle overturned.
Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ in Hamburg at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, the Rev. Dale Knowles officiating. Burial was at Linden, Mo.
Survivors include his wife, Trella, and eight children.
