A plane crash near Midland, Texas, Monday, November 6, took the life of Raymond Reiter, a former Kingman County resident. He was killed when the light plane he was flying crashed in a field off a paved county road. Persons who saw the accident reported that the single-engine four-place Cessna circled at least once as the pilot apparently looked for a place to land. Bits of wreckage were scattered over a half-mile area. The main portion of the plane, although badly crumpled, remained in one piece. Mr. Reiter was born in Kingman County, Sept. 1909, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Reiter. He was married to Lucille Fear in Kingman in 1930. They lived in Wichita prior to their going to Texas approximately ten years ago. Mr. Reiter was a sales representative for Southwest Airmotive Company in Dallas, Texas. He was a member of the Methodist Church. Funeral services were held in Irving, Texas at Black's Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 8 with Rev. Robert Walker of First Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be at Oak Grove Memorial. Mr. Reiter is survived by the widow and one son, Darry, 16, both of the home; one brother, Wilbur, of near Kingman; and a half-sister, Mrs. Owen Mason of Fredonia.
