Obituary: The Leader Courier, Kingman, Kingman County, Kansas; January 3, 1975

A Kingman farmer and former school board member, Wilbur E. Reiter, 63, died Monday, December 30, in Wesley Hospital where he has been hospitalized since the 19th. He had had surgery earlier this year but had been showing an improvement in health. Funeral services were held at the Livingston Chapel, Thursday, January 2, with Rev. Claud Fillingim officiating. Interment was in the Hoosier Cemetery.

Mr. Reiter lived his entire life on the farm where he was born April 24, 1911, a son of Frank and May Benson Reiter. He was married July 27, 1937, in Pratt to Helen Conley, who survives. He was a member of the Kingman School Board during the years the district was reorganizing and while the new high school was built. A member of the Masonic Lodge, his church membership was with the Penalosa United Methodist Church. He served his community for several years as a member of the Eureka township board.

Surviving in addition to the widow are a daughter, Susan Macy of Lincoln, Nebr.; two sons, Michael J. of Kansas City, Mo., and William E. of Muncie, Ind.; and five grandchildren.
