Bertha was the sixth child of William York Kester and Eliza Jane (Buckius) Kester.

She married William S. Saville about 1894 in Roanoke County VA.

"Mrs. Bertha K. Saville died last night at her home, 35 Day avenue, S. W. Surviving are one sister, Mrs. D. C. Fitzgerald, of Roanoke,
and two brothers, H. B. Kester, Martinsville, and J. F. Kester, Meshoppen, Pa. The funeral will be conducted at Oakey's chapel at 10:30 Saturday morning by Dr. Nolan B. Harmon, Jr. Burial will be in Fairview". (source: Don Strahle)
