JOSEPH W, LEON
Joseph W, Leon, 63, of 1605 Seymour Ave, a Griffiss Air Base Air Force Base employee until his retirement three years ago, died unexpectedly yesterday in his home. He had been treated for a heart condition for 10 years.
He was born Nov. 3,1895, in Little Falls; a son of Dennis and Anna Pauth Leon. He was educated in Little Falls schools and came to Utica 23 years ago. He Married Cecelia Wilkie in this city.
Mr. Leon was a member of Church of the Blessed Sacrament and its Holy Name Society and a former member of Fourth Degree Assembly, Knights of Columbus.
He was a veteran of World War I.
Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Joseph Vaughn Leon of Utica, four sisters, Mrs. Charles Vogel, Mohawk; Mrs. Herbert Grasse, Defereit; Mrs. Ralph Edick, Ilion; and Mrs. Stephen Huss, Utica; three brothers, Frank, Silkirk; Charles, Little Falls and Earl, Utica; several Nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 9 Monday from Garvey Funeral Home, 701 John St. and at 9:30 from Church of the Blessed Sacrament where a solemn requiem Mass will be offered. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery.

Nortz. Bearers; Rene Kohler, Rocco Motto, Edward Martin, James Reagan, Ernest Wendler and Leon Leon,.Burial was in the family plot in St. Agnes Cemetery with absolution by Father Nortz.
