She was a lifelong resident of Henderson County and was the daughter of the late F. Newton and Glannie McCrain Edney. She was predeceased by two brothers and one sister, Auda Edney, Odell Edney and Mary Frances Pruitt.
She was a member of Fairhaven Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her career included cosmetology and a seamstress for Ruth Originals before retiring in 1999 from the Times-News.
She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Clarence J. Corn of Hendersonville; two sons and their wives, Gary and Diane Corn and Victor and Sonya Corn, all of Hendersonville; one daughter and her husband, Becky and Ben Baddeley of Hendersonville; two brothers, Winfred Edney of Marietta, S.C., and Clifford Edney of Flat Rock; two sisters, Virginia Edney and Geraldine Staton of Hendersonville; five grandchildren, Heather, Aaron, Zachary and Abigail Corn and Tommy Baddeley.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Fairhaven Baptist Church. The Revs. Walter Gordon and Chris Norris will officiate. Burial will be in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at Shuler Funeral Home. The family will gather at the home of son Victor Corn.
