A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, he was a son of the late Jesse Albert and Mallee Henderson Corn. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years, Genell Edney Corn who died in 2007, and his brother, Charles F. Corn who died in 2004.
He was an Army veteran and worked for Harrison Wright and Staton Tree Service for several years. He retired as a contract driver for the US Postal Service in 1994 after many years of dedicated service.
He was a good man who worked hard providing for his family; he was a loving Father and Grandfather and friend to many.
He is survived by his two sons, Gary and wife, Diane, and Victor and wife, Sonya; his daughter, Becky Baddeley and husband, Ben, all of Hendersonville; five grandchildren, Heather Osborne, Aaron, Zachary and Abigail Corn, and Tommy Baddeley; a granddaughter on the way; and a special cousin, Louise Corn Ward who was like a sister to him..
A graveside service will be held at 2 PM Monday at Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Chris Norris officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by Hubert M. Smith American Legion Post 77, Hedrick-Rhodes Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5206, and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 14. The family will receive friends from 4 – 6 PM Sunday at Shuler Funeral Home.
