She married Gustav Witt on 15 Jan 1885 at Anchor, IL. They farmed near Fairbury and Gust also worked for Sibley Estate as a carpenter/laborer. For a time (1889-92) the family went to Rochester, NY where Gust worked as a cabinet maker. About 1892 they returned to Sibley where Gust held several jobs including Sibley School janitor. They had 7 children:

Augusta was known for her housekeeping skills. She was generous to a fault and always had a handout for the tramps begging from the railroad which was only a block away from their house in Sibley. Augusta died of jaundice and hemorrhage.
