Robert E. Hawver, son of John A. Hawver and Lulu Dempsey Hawver, was born Oct. 16, 1904, in Stafford County, Kas. He resided in this community all his life and passed away at the Stafford City Hospital Dec. 11, 1948 at the age of 44 years, 1 month and 24 days.
He married Melissa Turner, Aug 17, 1942, at Newkirk, Okla. To this union was born one child, Mary Jane Hawver.
In his early youth he united with the Union Center Methodist Episcopal Church in Stafford county. He served his country in the Medical Corps of the United States Army from September 1942 until honorably discharged March 1943.
He is survived by his and wife and child, three brothers, Frank and Ray of Stafford and George of Noel, Mo. three sisters, Mrs. Mary Figger, Mrs. Emma Garey and Mrs. Ruth Winkler all of Stafford and a half sister, Mrs. Cora Roth of Nickerson, Kas., and many nephews, nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father and mother and four brothers, Seaton, William, John and Joseph.
Robert Hawver's life was dedicated to his family. He was always a dutiful son, a loving brother, and kind and thoughtful husband and father. He lived a life of high honor and integrity.
Funeral services were held at Peacock and Soice chapel at 2:00 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13, 1948 with Rev. Edon Smoot officiating. He was interred with military honors in the Stafford Cemetery.

Stafford - Robert E. Hawver, 44, life-long resident of Stafford County, died at 3 a.m. Saturday in Stafford hospital. He suffered a heart attack at 10:30 p.m. Friday.
Mr. Hawver was born in Stafford county, Oct. 16, 1904, and was a vetern of World War 2.
Suvivors are his widow Mary; a daughter, Mary, 4; three brothers, Frank and Ray both of Stafford, and George Hawver, Pineville, Mo.; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Figger, Mrs. Ralph Garey, Mrs. Ruth Winkler all of Stafford; half sister Mrs. Cora Roth, Nickerson, Kas.
