Miss LulaDempsey was born in West Virginia March 10, 1870. She came to Kansas with the family in 1899. She was married in West Virginia November 10, 1887 to John A. Hawver. Died May 17, 1906, aged 36 years. She was the mother of eleven children, eight boys and three girls, who together with the husband and a father, mother, three brothers and a sister survive her.
Mrs. John Hawver of Union township died last Thrusday at the family home of blood poisoning. After an illness of four weeks and was buried the following morning in the Prairie Chapel cemetery. Rev. McMunn pastor of the United Brethren Church, conducted the funeral services, which were attended by a large number of relatives and friends of the deceased. Mrs. Hawver was devoted to the interests of her husband and large family while living and had their welfare always at heart. She was widely known in the neighborhood and was noted for her kindly spirit and sunshiny nature, so that in her death Stafford county is bereft of one of its noblest daughters.
The Republican joins with the many other friends of the husband and family in extending sympathy in this sad hour.

Mrs. Lula Hawver died at her late home near Duleyville May 17, 1906, aged 36 years, 2 months and 7 days. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Wm. B McMunn of the Zion United Brethern Church and interment made in the Prairie Chapel Cemetery. Mrs. Hawver was born in West Virginia, March, March 10, 1870 and came to Kansas in 1899. She joined the Episcopalian Church when a girl of 14 and died in its communion. She leaves a father, mother, husband, and eleven children, a stepdaughter, three brothers and one sister to mourn her all too early demise. The funeral was attended by a large concourse of people.

WHEREAS: It has pleased the Almighty God, in His infinite wisdon, to take from this life the wife of our esteemed brother, John A. Hawver; therefore be it
RESOLVED: That the members of Stafford lodge No. 329, A. O. U. W., extend to our brother and family our mose earnest sympathy in this, their time of sad bereavement, and point them to Him who has said: "Come unto me, all ye who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest," and to the fact that though our afflicitions are more than we can bear, He will stregenthen us to bear it, if we put our trust in Him.
RESOLVED: Theat these resolutions be placed upon the minutes of the lodge, and a copy furnished each of the city papers for publication.

Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Campbell and John's father, James Campbell of Hutchinson, and Mr. and Mrs. Saul Roth from near Partridge attended the funeral of Mrs. J. A. Hawver last Friday.
