Mrs. H. Frank Sr. Dies On Sunday At Home In Piney
Mrs. Herman Frank Sr. a highly respected Austin County native, mother of 12 prominent children and an integral part of old Austin County, died at her home in the Piney community at 3:15 a.m. on Sunday, May 24. About two weeks ago she was stricken with paralysis and when hope for her recovery waned, her children and other relative living out-of-town were notified.

Mrs. Frank was a member of the Lutheran Church and of the Sons of Herman sister lodge. She was a loving wife, a diligent and careful housekeeper and had won the love and friendship of countless acquaintances.

Born in Austin County on Aug. 25, 1862, Mrs. Frank was 79 years of age. She was the former Miss Louise Reinecker and on February 7, 1882, was married to Mr. Frank, who preceded her in death on April 26, 1926. She assisted him through out their long married life in operating his farm and in making a home for him and their children.

Services were held at 3 p.m. on Monday, May 25, at St. John's Lutheran Church, with Rev. H. Schliesser officiating. Business houses, out of respect for her memory, were closed during the obsequies. Burial was at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery and pallbearers were Marvin Wietstruck, Earl Frank, James Frank, Milton Frank, Edgar Berndt and Wilfred Frank, all grandsons.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Eric Wietstruck and Mrs. Richard Berndt of Bellville, Mrs. Max Andreas of Temple and Mrs. Robert Adler of El Paso; eight sons, A.C. Frank Sr., Julius Frank Sr., Ferdinand Frank, Alfred Frank, Edgar Frank and Carl Frank of Bellville, Herman Frank Jr. of Galveston and Hugo Frank of Belen, New Mexico; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Neumann of Kenney, Mrs. August Mueller of McGregor and Mrs. G. T. Bell of New Braunfels; two brothers, Emil Reinecker of Houston and William Reinecker of Bellville; 43 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
