Death Takes Great-Great-Grandmother At Age of 79
One of the oldest living Bellville natives died during the week when Mrs. Bertha Frank, widow of the late Wm. Frank, passed away at 1:55 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15. Death was ascribed to a heart attack.
Mrs. Frank, the former Miss Bertha Reinecker, was born in Bellville on Sept. 12, 1860 and reared in the county. On June 2, 1878 she was married to Wm. Frank and together they continued to make their home here Mr. Frank died on June 24, 1937.
Mrs. Frank was a kind and loving mother, good neighbor and a valued friend. Her acquaintances were numbered in the hundreds; her direct decendants number 74.
Surviving are six children: Gus, Edwin, Ben and Emil Frank of Bellville, Mrs. Hedwig Berndt of Galveston and Mrs. Ida Qest of LaMarque; four sisters, Mrs. Emma Neumann of Kenny, Mrs. August Miller of Valley Mills, Mrs. Herman Frank, Sr. of Bellville and Mrs. George Bell of New Braunfels, two brothers, Emil Reinecker of Houston and Wm. Reinecker of Bellville; 39 Grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services were held on Sunday at 3 p.m. from the Hallman Funeral Home with Rev. H. Schlieser officiating. They were continued at the Frank Cemetery, where burial was made, by Rev. Basil Halbert. Pallbearers were Leslie Berndt, Delmer Berndt, Eldon Frank, Franklin Frank, Wilbert Frank and Russell Coward, Jr.
Attendance at the services was large and floral offerings were profuse and beautiful.
