Earl D. BUCHER, 52, R.R. 2, North Manchester, died Monday at 1:30 p.m. in Wabash county hospital, following a heart attack. He had been ill three days. Born March 23, 1918, in Fulton county, he was the son of Harmon and Ethel LANDIS BUCHER. His marriage was Jan. 31, 1948, in Athens, to Evelyn HOPKINS, who survives. A lifetime resident of the Akron and Silver Lake communities, he was a foreman for the General Tire and Rubber company, Wabash. Surviving with the wife are two daughters, Mrs. C. W. (Myra) WADE, Tacoma, Wash., and Miss Linda Kay BUCHER, at home three sons, James BUCHER, R.R. 1, Akron; Elbie BUCHER, Sarasota, Fla., and Thomas BUCHER, with the U.S. Air Force in Thailand; three brothers, Edward BUCHER, Akron, Robert BUCHER, Indianapolis, and Gerald BUCHER, Hunterstown; eight grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Ethel BUCHER, R.R. 1, Silver Lake, and two sisters, Mrs. Worby (Mildred) CLINKER, R.R. 1, Silver Lake, and Mrs. Richard (Donna) FRENCH, R.R. 1, Silver Lake. Final rites will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Silver Creek Church of god. The Revs. Jim MARTIN and George RESER will officiate. Burial will be in the Silver Creek cemetery. Friends may call at the Sheetz funeral home, Akron, after 2 p.m. Wednesday and until noon Thursday, and then at the church one hour before the services.
