Robert H. Bucher, Oct. 30, 1916 - Jan. 28, 1996, Robert Hugh BUCHER, 79, 512 Red Oak Drive, Mandeville, La., died at 9:45 p.m. Sunday at St. Tammany Parish Hospital, Covington, La. He was born in Silver Lake to Orville Harman and Ethel LANDIS BUCHER. On Sept.11, 1943, in Greenville, Texas, he married Betty "Icnotta" CRABILL, who survives. He retired from the Kroger Co. after 39 years, and was a merchandiser for the Indianapolis branch. He was a veteran of World Wr II serving in the Air Force as a pilot and instructor, and was an Assistant Adjutant General of the Air Force. He attended Old Bethel Methodist Church, Indianapolis. Surviving with his wife are one daughter, Mrs. Gordon (Beth) ROBINSON, Mandeville, La.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Worby (Mildred) CLINKER and Mrs. Richard (Donna) FRENCH, both of Silver Lake; and two brothers, Ed and wife Mary BUCHER, Mentone; and Gerald and wife Mary BUCHER, Churubusco. Preceding in death were one son, Robert H. BUCHER; and one brother, Earl BUCHER. Services will be at 11 a.m Friday at the Silver Creek Church of God, Silver Lake, with the Rev. James MALBONE officiating. Burial will be in the Silver Creek Cemetery, Silver Lake. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m Thursday at the Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron, and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.
